(I have been using patterns by Claire Garland from Dot Pebbles Knit for most of these little animals. She has a fab Instagram account. Shoes are sadly not made by me but from various sellers on Etsy.)
Hello Knitting Cabbage Heads,
This is the story of the making of a little pink frog in pictures. A mere tadpole in the making, basking in the egg carton pool of cardboard life with the others, she’s there on the left hiding under some others. It seems she was shy at conception.
Once her eyes developed she came out of herself a little and is seen here at the front watching what was going on.
Only still wee ones but they love sitting in the sunlight dreaming of the adventures they may go on. She is there at the front dreaming of adventures.
Yay! Legs are on. The first stage towards independence. I felt that gaze as I made arms.
Once she had arms she wanted to have her photo taken with them. She’s not sure on the shoes and may swap them out.

Like the others she had opinions on what she wanted to wear. Apparently she’d wanted me to make her a ‘hippy’ dress. I’m not sure where she got that language from but off to the fabric box we went. And this was where I regretted buying quality fabric as a lot of it was too thick. Blossom had a good rummage through and found a few possibilities.

But none were really quite right and when my new delivery of ruffles arrived she was in her element and dove right in. This was it, this was what she was looking for.

Now the problem was, I’m not a dress maker. So I search the internet and found a cheap dress to see and copy the pattern of. I asked Blossom to choose a colour but in the meantime I needed her to model a different dress for me. She really wasn’t impressed. Not the style she was after at all.
So I set to. Ruffles are hard to work with, and Blossom was quite demanding requiring both bead AND charm embellishment as well as a bracelet. I gave her a fluff trim, and here she is in all her glory.

She then wanted to go outside into the world before being boxed up to go to her new home. The chickens came to say hello and a bumble bee visited the heather she was smelling.

And that’s the story of Blossom the frog for you. Blossom has already been adopted, should you fancy a frog or other animal of your on just let me know. I do still have few of last years tadpoles to finish and so more are on their way. Next up will be Yo-yo.
Till next time peeps, Tx
Froglets🐸, other animals🐇🦊🦡🐭🐘🦏🦎🦥🦧etc, and other miniatures are (or will be) available either from me on here (message me) or in my Etsy store A Midnight Emporium. They are considered collectibles, are unsuitable for under 14s due to the wires, are not CE/UKCA tested (collectibles do not need to be), and are therefore priced as such. Also contact me here if you fancy something you see but I haven’t put in my shop. I do have ME/CFS and photographing and listing them all takes a lot of energy and is a very slow process. I do occasionally knit to order too, but be aware a froglet with a jumper takes around 3 to 4 days for me to make on average. The smaller they are the longer they take as they are more intricate and fiddly. Orifice hooks and stitch markers for crochet and knitting are available from The Purple Peapod. Thank you muchly.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.
Blossom is quite a character, beautiful dress!
I think she rocked the denim dress more than the ruffles one, but hey, if that wasn't her thing then who am I to say otherwise?
