(I have been using patterns by Claire Garland from Dot Pebbles Knit for most of these little animals. She has a fab Instagram account. Shoes are sadly not made by me but from various sellers on Etsy.)
Hello Knitting Cabbage Heads,
This is the story of the making of a purple frog in pictures. A mere tadpole in the making, basking in the egg carton pool of cardboard life with the others, she was one of the last to hatch
Only still wee ones but they loved sitting in the sunlight dreaming of the adventures they may go on. She is there in the back row dreaming of eyes and adventures.
Here she is with eyes and she was actually one of the first few picked for the next stage.

At this point they tend to announce their gender and name. Some froglets are timid and not sure what style to go, for some are very sure. This little one snuck away and was found by R underneath a cushion on the sofa seeking her own adventures with only legs a good couple of weeks later. This meant she had had a good long time to decide what she wanted to be, though the time under the cushion made her rather disheveled and a trim was very much needed.
Apparently, whilst under the cushion this little one had dreamt of being a ballerina and chosen the name Darcey. She persuaded me to make her a tutu before anything else. Sadly ballet pumps wouldn’t allow her to stand so she is was very avant guard and donned white docs instead. I wasn’t sure about the large pearls but she insisted she liked them.

She wanted not to the have straps initially but once the gold thread came out she was sold. She needed a bit of a fluff trip too. I offered her a crown and upon seeing it she was delighted and asked for a bracelet and necklace as well. Of, I obliged.

And there we are. She’s all done and is up for adoption if anyone fancies her.
Till next time peeps, Tx
Froglets🐸, other animals🐇🦊🦡🐭🐘🦏🦎🦥🦧etc, and other miniatures are (or will be) available either from me on here (message me) or in my Etsy store A Midnight Emporium. They are considered collectibles, are unsuitable for under 14s due to the wires, are not CE/UKCA tested (collectibles do not need to be), and are therefore priced as such. Also contact me here if you fancy something you see but I haven’t put in my shop. I do have ME/CFS and photographing and listing them all takes a lot of energy and is a very slow process. I do occasionally knit to order too, but be aware a froglet with a jumper takes around 3 to 4 days for me to make on average. The smaller they are the longer they take as they are more intricate and fiddly. Orifice hooks and stitch markers for crochet and knitting are available from The Purple Peapod. Thank you muchly.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.
Darcey is adorable! I think it's really awesome the way you sourced the shoes from other creators!
She's darling!!!
