Kes and Buzz - 2 bards from a travelling troupe.
Long rabbit and frog.
Quick house keeping note - if you are here for poetry and essays only pop over to my new Substack - The Shadow Mirror where I let all the angst and darkness out of their boxes to run riot.

As usual these patterns for the Long Rabbit, frog amd clothing are by Claire Garland, @dot pebbles. The cloak is a simple pattern made by made after taking inspiration from 3 other patterns.
Dear Knitting Cabbage Heads,
These are two new members of the travelling troupe, the others members being Peregrine and Lannar from my last post, they were fox and a frog. This time we have a Long Rabbit and a frog. The frog is Lannarโs sibling. There is a theme to the names. Peregrine is obvious, a peregrine falcon, Lannar a Lannar falcon, Kes a kestrel, and Buzz a buzzard.
I decided to make Kes in a deeper brown than the other Long Rabbits Iโve made. He was quite the gentleman waiting for all his limbs.

Then it was the turn of Buzz. Kes stayed by his side encouraging him along.

Kes decided he was harpist, Buzz a recorder player. Now Iโm no miniature maker, but finding a harp was hard, hard, hard and Iโd nearly given up. I do not really want to buy a 3D printer so at the moment I source what I can and change it, either by augmenting or painting etc.

I made little bags for both the harp and the recorder. Of course I forgot to take a pic of the bag for the recorder though if you look really hard you can spot it on the last few photos.

Clothes for Buzz and cloaks for both were then made. Buzz had an idea to use this self striping yarn, judiciously cutting out sections to make sure he got the pattern he wanted. I think his idea worked quite well. All the bards have the same sort of claps to fasten their coats/cloaks, bringing a unity to their many personalities.

As usual I took them for a bit of a scene set up and photo shoot before sending them off on their way to their homes in the US. Gathering extras for their adventures. Sheet music is essential for bards, a notebook to keep track of new ideas or payments owed etc. books to read, a sword for Kes and an axe for Buzz, and snacks for the journey.

I wonder what the next adventure will be?
So thatโs all folks. Till next time, Tx

Froglets๐ธ, other animals๐๐ฆ๐ฆก๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆฅ๐ฆงetc, and other miniatures are (or will be) available from me on here (message me). You can also find them at My Website. They are considered collectibles, are unsuitable for under 14s due to the wires , are not CE/UKCA tested (collectibles do not need to be), and are therefore priced as such. Also contact me here if you fancy something you see or donโt see, Iโm always open to suggestions. I do have ME/CFS and making and photographing them etc all takes a lot of energy and is a very slow process. I do knit to order too, but be aware a froglet with a jumper takes up to a week for me to make on average. The smaller they are the longer they take as they are more intricate and fiddly. Thank you muchly.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings Iโd love for you to click the โค๏ธ.
