Lannar and Peregrine - 2 bards from a travelling troupe.
Fox and frog.

Dear Knitting Cabbage Heads,
I had a lovely message recently outlining the idea of a Knitted Ones troupe, made up of a variety of animals. This really grabbed my imagination. A fox and a froglet were needed. This little one piped up from the Pool of Life and expressed a very keen desire to be a bard. I fully expected to make a brand new froglet but this one was insistent.
Those eyes just pleaded whilst he hummed a song to show his commitment. So I set to. The other two were very much against the idea of being made into bards. Very much against it. It still amazes me how they have their own ideas
.
He was quite insistent that I make the fox next before concentrating on clothes. And who am I to argue? First of all we had to decide which colour yarn to use and came up with the russet. The fifth pic show the difference in tone between what I normally use. I think I might actually prefer this shade. And look at that sweet face, isnβt he a charmer? Meet Peregrine.

We then had to decide on shoes, Lannar had already chosen a blue pair. Peregrine is a more down to earth character though and went for the brown. His reasoning was they were more appropriate for tramping through the countryside to gigs.

Lannar on the other hand is a bit of a fop. He loved the blue and began styling his clothes based around the colour rather than practicalities. First some blouson trousers. I made up the pattern as I went (and forgot to write it down - doh!π©) and I think they turned out quite well.

Peregrine had a practical pair of trousers. Of course. Much more sensible. I adjusted them a bit, making them a bit shorter in the waist.
Waistcoats next for them both, couldnβt have them cold on top. Lannar chose a blue and Peregrine surprised me with a green! I expected brown again. Posh buttons for Lannar and simple, sensible brass ones for Peregrine.

Now they needed cloaks. Lannar designed a shorter cloak made more for looks than anything else, Peregrine went for length and warmth to keep him comfortable in the open air. Peregrine did go for a little decoration, Lannarβs was a little more βobviousβ.

Before they left for their new home I sorted out their accessories, a bag each, a scroll and music. Peregrine writes with a feather pen, Lannar canβt be bothered with dipping into ink and uses a pencil. Peregrine has a sword for protection, Lannnar believes his music will save him. Both play the lute, though Lannar decided to bling his up, which Iβm really not sure about especially the glitter, but he says itβs wonderful.

I took them for a last photo shoot in a Christmassy set up.

There they are. The start of a troupe.
So thatβs all folks. Till next time, Tx

FrogletsπΈ, other animalsππ¦π¦‘πππ¦π¦π¦₯π¦§etc, and other miniatures are (or will be) available from me on here (message me). You can also find them at My Website. They are considered collectibles, are unsuitable for under 14s due to the wires , are not CE/UKCA tested (collectibles do not need to be), and are therefore priced as such. Also contact me here if you fancy something you see or donβt see, Iβm always open to suggestions. I do have ME/CFS and making and photographing them etc all takes a lot of energy and is a very slow process. I do knit to order too, but be aware a froglet with a jumper takes up to a week for me to make on average. The smaller they are the longer they take as they are more intricate and fiddly. Thank you muchly.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings Iβd love for you to click the β€οΈ. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know thereβs something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad π. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more π A comment of what you liked, what you didnβt etc would be most gratefully appreciated.

I do love the sweet face of the fox! Adorable!!
Lovely creatures with beautiful clothing. The cloaks are an extra touch of brilliance...
