(I have been using patterns by Claire Garland from Dot Pebbles Knit for most of these little animals. She has a fab Instagram account. Shoes are sadly not made by me but from various sellers on Etsy.)
Hello Knitting Cabbage Heads,
This is the story of the making of buttermilk coloured frog in pictures (yes, that’s the name of the yarn colour). A mere tadpole in the making, basking in the egg carton pool of cardboard life with the others, he was one of the last to hatch, and often found with other yellow siblings. If you look closely she is bang in the middle at the back.
Only still wee ones but they love sitting in the sunlight dreaming of the adventures they may go on. She has moved here more towards the front.
At this point they tend to announce their gender and name. Madeleine was always going to be a Madeleine and as soon as she could she was asking to be read stories. She found the dress in the egg box and slipped in on before she even had arms. This dress was going to be hers no matter what.

Arms were obviously next and as soon as she could she gathered books. Here she has a book of poetry and Wuthering Heights, and then came that strange pose again that the frogs have recently adopted. .

Then legs and the finishing off of her look. She reminded me of Madeline from the kids movie my children watched a lot in the 90s. So a shirt, black shoes and white socks were a must.

And there we are. She is all done and is went off to live with a lady who loved watching her journey. Here she is wearing her pillow as a hat, and showing off the wares that came with her.

And that’s the making of Madeleine.
Till next time peeps, Tx
Froglets🐸, other animals🐇🦊🦡🐭🐘🦏🦎🦥🦧etc, and other miniatures are (or will be) available from me on here (message me). They are considered collectibles, are unsuitable for under 14s due to the wires, are not CE/UKCA tested (collectibles do not need to be), and are therefore priced as such. Also contact me here if you fancy something you see or don’t see, I’m open to suggestions. I do have ME/CFS and photographing them etc all takes a lot of energy and is a very slow process. I do knit to order too, but be aware a froglet with a jumper takes around 3 to 4 days for me to make on average. The smaller they are the longer they take as they are more intricate and fiddly. Thank you muchly.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.
Love it!! 😻
It would be so meta (in the original sense of the word) to have a knitted frog who knits frogs! 🐸 🧶 🐸
Oh I totally love this! My little Madeleine looks lovely and reading her back story is great. Thank you! 🥰✨
