Hello poetry people,
Oh look, it’s Poetry Wednesday again, how did that happen? So this week I have been working on food poetry for
(that will be revealed on Friday), working on drafts, some of which are very ancient, and experimenting with the haiku form. So it’s been quite a poetry week. And I’m all in a quandary about what to give you. My last two posts have resulted in an immediate unsubscribe each. How many will today’s post cause? lol. No honestly though, if these post are not your style, or too much, or tackle subjects you don’t want to read about, or you just don’t like my ‘voice’ please don’t feel bad about leaving, I would much rather you scoured Substack and found something you do like.so I’ve been threatening promising to give you a ‘difficult’ one for quite a few Wednesdays now. So here it is. I’m not going to do my usual waffle about it. I’d love to know if you think it is difficult (I found it difficult to write which is probably where my perception comes from.)
Now That’s What I Call . . . Love?
Three satellites in my orbit;
two keen and splendid stars and
a sycophantic, desolate moon.
Hypnotically I reach
for the darker side,
the colder side, and illicit love.
The stars glisten
but the moon fulls
and its casting shadow
pales the glare
and I am lost forever
in a forbidden embrace.
So that’s today’s poem. Till next time.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what ftyou didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.
"I can have a dark side too..." or maybe not :)
I've chosen the dark side quite a few times myself. I think the poem is sublime.
