Hello you lovely people,
January was the month of being dizzy. An interesting, frustrating, and at times humorous feeling.
I sold my wonderful Tanglewood guitar this month. I’d always wanted a Tanglewood and 5 years ago hubby bought me one. I’ve played it only a handful of times since. I trained on a classical guitar which has nylon strings. Acoustic guitars have steel strings and are harder on the finger tips. You need to play almost daily to toughen the skin and make playing not painful. Due to my MECFS I am not capable of playing that often and so, after an ill fated attempt to put nylon strings on and failing, I sold it. Feelings are conflicted. I’m sad it’s gone, I’m relieved I don’t feel guilty about not playing it as often as I should.
I found a new basket for the homeless Knitted Ones. Much as many have been adopted a larger basket was needed - it even fits the chicken in.
Knitting has been in two parts. One for me - my fairisle cardigan I’m making and Knitted Ones. And slow because of the constant dizziness. Roísín and Elodie are pink froglets off to the USA. Long Kes is a bard, rabbit, harpist and will eventually be joined by Buzz (not yet finished) the recorder player and wend their way to the US too.

One morning I was awake at some god awful hour and saw a sunrise for once.
We have the return of the bathroom art installations. Firstly a spine mold being used, and then the ubiquitous brushes.

Mist in the valley. We have had weeks of gloom, and dank, and fog refusing to lift. So blue sky was a pleasure to behold.
I apologise for all the knitting photos. Being dizzy has limited my out and about-ness rather a lot and so very few other photos. Of course all the purist out there, including myself, will be screaming that this is crochet, and of course it is crochet. I’ve been working through old unfinished projects - works in progress or WIPs as they are known as - and deciding what to do with them. This one I just undid the seams, added a border to each square, and turned them into blankets for the froglets. I even rediscovered my wooden blocking board and used it for the first time in a good long while.

Seven seems a decent number to stop on. February lurks around the corner and I welcome it in.
Till next time, T x
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.

Brilliant documentation of a month that clearly had its ups and downs. The bit about the guitar really got me, I have a similarexperience with an instrument I barely touch but felt guilty about for years. Turning unfinished crochet squarres into blankets for the froglets is such a smart solution, makes me rethink all my abandoned projects.
You are an artist. Never ever forget that
