Hello you lovely people,
Well November was … well November . The October slump hit late and I was very quiet and November saw lots of proactive resting and mainly knitting. Getting out of the house was rare.
Long Quinn was a hit at the beginning of the month, his chilled, laid back, and dapper attitude scoring him some new fans. He is now wending his way to the US.

Long Quinn compilation A poem of mine, Ode to a Bat, has been published in this anthology. That’s two actual physical-print books I’ve been in now - woot woot.
Dragon eyes arrived for the kitten costume. Now to make a kitten that isn’t also grey. And also maybe make a dragon using this pattern and my imagination.

Dragon eyes have arrived On one of our rare trips outside of the house, off we went to the 3rd and last Rugby League test match between Australia and England at Headingley stadium. Australia had already won the test series and England needed to win to not be drubbed. It took me a while to work out what those flags said, I was trying to make it a place name (thanks dyslexia). Our normal seats had been taken over by a media company and nobody told us and the tickets were not clear, so we ended up at the other end of the stadium to normal. (We were sadly sat near to a Reformer whom I had to bite my tongue for - some battles aren’t worth the effort, he was out and out, through and through rascist and there was no way I could change his mind between tackles and trys.)

3rd England v Australia rugby league test Out of curiosity I retook the Aspie-Quiz. Following on from Nick Dean 3.0’s note. I was just checking that a year after diagnosis I was still autistic. Yep! Apparently I am. Who would have thunk it? I think I’m less masked and so more obviously autistic now, getting 100% this time round, I think it was 99% a few years ago. I had to redo it as I got distracted and missed a bunch of questions - one of which was ‘can you easily return to a task when distracted’ 😂 obviously not!
Brindley found life on a narrow boat this month, along with Nancy the seamstress, Harley another Long Rabbit, and Mercury the entertainer. Old timers Matilda the mouse and Caspian the bard found a home.

This months knitting I finally got round to painting up a lute for Caspian. The lutes were made by a man on Etsy who kindly upscaled his DnD designs to match what I wanted.

Sunshine on a winters day. I so needed to sleep! I was SO exhausted! I suspect yet another flare after visiting MIL previously, but the sun was shining beautifully, R brought me a cup of tea before he and the urchins walked the dog, so I soaked in the moment and counted my blessings that I have the privilege to rest when I need to.
The fire one evening decided to have the most glorious red flames. The picture doesn’t quite do it justice but I was enamoured by them.
10. We took a trip to deliver a trundle bed to my friend in Oxfordshire. Made a boo-boo on the way there by putting in the wrong destination, some town name different county. First pic is of the satnav saying stay on the same road for 99 miles. We did two sides of a triangle to get there in the end. We did giggle when we realised what we’d done. Added 2 hours onto the journey. I was however treated to many beautiful cloud - fluffy, curly sheep’s wool, feathery, stretched and shimmery, and I even saw a couple of cloud dragons. Then a day out in Oxford. Many famous landmarks. A beautiful old timber framed house as we approached the city centre. Then the journey back was awful - accidents on the M1, lots of f congestion and again an extra 2 hours on the journey. But a lovely few days away. I didn’t take knitting with me so I have catch up to play.

So that’s it for November. Next longed for December for it is the month the light begins to return.
Till then, T x

It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.

Hi Tamsin! This rundown of your November was jam packed with cool details. Work. Rest. The scramble to be with The Mamas and The Papas, with just enough time to scope out the Church! There’s no grass growing under your feet, it would seem. 😁 Thanks for placing emphasis on rest…restorative, a tonic for confusion rising from weariness.
Holiday times can take on a life of their own, as did our Thanksgiving gatherings. I felt consumed for days after. That is to say I hope you ensure your governor is keeping your RPM’s at a safe clip.
Lovely post and pics of your creations, and trips.
Little Janey is long overdue a day out - Pembrokeshire on Saturday for family lunch...pics to follow 😄
