Good day Red Cabbage Heads,
Nelly at
was thinking about unfinished poems this week, or was it last week? I’m not sure, the days have been meddling into each other recently. What with resting because of my MECFS, recovering from expending energy, having frogs demand clothes be made, and trying to g to write I’ve hit the old AUDHD block and done almost nothing.I find the odd line, wrangle with it for a bit and then lose interest. I’m having to wait quite a while to get any itch to get back to it.
The poem below starting off as just the first line, then it got extended, then I reduced it, then I extended it but differently. It still doesn’t say what I want it to convey. But it’s a draft. A start.
Turbulent Times (2025) A Mother delivers tears for breakfast pouring it silently into the glass Serves deep long sighs for lunch thinly sliced obediently arranged carefully on the long thin platter Presents patient resistance for dinner sprinkled liberally but hidden alongside the salt and pepper It’s as much as she can manage As much as she is allowed
And there we are. That’s all for this week, ta-ra Tx
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. 🥰 Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.

Subscribe now to support me, you can also upgrade to a paid subscription, it doesn’t give you any more access to my words, but a handwritten note and a probably completely useless small, handmade by me, gift are yours and my eternal gratitude.
So lovely. It gave me a needed moment of pause this morning
Achingly Beautiful
