I write about many different things.
ME/CFS, chronic illness, and how my life is affected by it.
Autism and neurodiversity
Poetry
Prose and short stories (not done one of those yet)
General rants and rambles about my life.
And I’d quite like to included our house renovations too
If I’m really going to make a go of this should I make myself a timetable to post about different subjects on different days? Would that be useful? To me mainly, but to others as well?
I’ve started using notes differently, recently (well, today). I’ve been a bit frightened of notes, I wasn’t really sure what they were for. How do they differ to posts? I’m still not precisely sure to be fair. I’ve used the over the last couple of days to restack (obviously) to sketch out ideas to flesh out further in posts, or to post thoughts I have no intent of fleshing out at all. I need to get the courage up to look into chats as well.
I’m wondering how much comments on posts should or could turn into chats, or is that only on notes, or specifically chats? I had a good time posting and ‘chatting’ briefly with the people on the
Friday round up thread. I discover a few more people and read a lot of lovely posts both with poetry or without.I know when I was on Wordpress it was possible to have sections: prose, poetry, life etc. I am not aware of that possibility on Substack as of yet. It would be a useful too here too, maybe there is already the possibility and I e just not discovered it yet.
So it seems most people used Sundays for a weekly newsletter or round up. It always surprises me how themed people can be. Fridays is my Poetry Pals day. I’d like to have a poetry/short story day, so maybe Wednesday? And then on other days anything else, or is posting more than 3 times a week too much? Is there an optimum.
So I’m going to try and not beat myself up if it isn’t a viable way to be.
Sunday - a newsletter, thoughts, frustrations, successes, maybe even something insightful
Wednesday - poetry/prose
Friday -

I’ve had all these same questions. And as for chat, still no real idea 😬. I think if it helps you to theme your posts/posting schedule then it def won’t be of detriment?!
