Something a Little Different - a Frog (not poetry)
The story of not doing poetry whilst word death is upon me
Dear gentle readers, opps too much Bridgerton binging, poetry ¿frog? people,
So those fickle words and my errant and erratic energy deserted me for a few days, on top of one of the worst 6 months of this illness for a long, long time and I struggled, ooo, I struggled lots. I pissed off my husband, I got very overwhelmed at a long, long rugby match (to celebrate the life of Rob Burrows who died of MND), the aftermath of an autism assessment, and my ME and menopause symptoms playing up. All a bit much really.
So I picked up my needles. I’ve had the pattern and yarn sat around since February but haven’t had eyesight that worked well enough to see the yarn/stitches on 2mm needles. They are TINY! I’ve never knitted on such tiny needles before and it took some doing. My first attempt was rather characterful (a euphemism for wonky with plenty of mistakes).

I then decided to make him a jumper and ignored my instinct that told me the sized needles in the pattern were too large, I was just looking forward to using a larger size - 3.5mm. Results were hilarious. I made him an Oodie, oversized and baggy.
Feeling sorry for him I changed needles and pattern and made him a different jumper, on much smaller needles. Now by this stage my fingers were getting a bit sore but the practise was helping and I was making less mistakes.

This Froggy is now winging his way to my friend to start his new life and new adventures.
After a short break I started on Froggy 2 and a new jumper. And here he is

his eyes are spaced better and his mouth less wonky and definitely less mistakes made. Still room for improvement though. I then made him a coat, which was noted upon by a friend as much too hot for him in this weather so I made up a crocheted tankini on the fly. It was hilarious. All this posing him has made me realise that his armature is not strong enough and so I will need to make another with stronger wire inside,

The weather changed and the lovely
asked for photos of him looking out of the window. So I obliged.

Whilst I’m waiting for the new armature I’m knitting up the ‘skin’ of a toad friend for Froggy 2. I’ll update when I’ve sorted that out.
Until then, dear readers, if you would like to suggest photo opportunities for Froggy2 please do so in the comments below and I will strive to oblige and post the results on Notes first and then make another post here eventually.
So that me and Frsigning off for now, till next time.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.
I have a feeling this is gonna really take off and I’ll get to say I was a fan from the get-go!
Thanks for bringing a smile. Love the frogs!
