(I have been using patterns by Claire Garland from Dot Pebbles Knit for most of these little animals. She has a fab Instagram account. Shoes are sadly not made by me but from various sellers on Etsy.)
Hello Knitting Cabbage Heads,
Toad was one of the first few ‘frogs’ I made. Nothing in particular, other than the colour of the wool, made him a toad. I used an old pattern where the wire for the legs didn’t go all the way through his body and eventually he started to have hip problems. This is him with his friend Frog on a picnic.
Well those hips really began to hurt and so I booked him in for limb replacement surgery, arms and legs as the arms were attached the same way and so an upgrade was in order. I have to admit he was a grumpy so and so. I put it down to the bad hips initially but his attitude continued. We almost fell out.

First came new arms.

Then new legs and new boots.

At this point we were in the middle of an unseasonable heat wave and melting when he decided he needed a wool jumper. He was most insistent and almost rude in his demands. Anyhoo, jumper was made and then tartan shorts called for.

Grumpy Toad is staying here with me, he has too many errors (and too bad an attitude) to be allowed out in the big wide world. More better mannered frogs are on the way though.
Till next time peeps, Tx
Froglets🐸, other animals🐇🦊🦡🐭🐘🦏🦎🦥🦧etc, and other miniatures are (or will be) available from me on here (message me). They are considered collectibles, are unsuitable for under 14s due to the wires, are not CE/UKCA tested (collectibles do not need to be), and are therefore priced as such. Also contact me here if you fancy something you see or don’t see, I’m open to suggestions. I do have ME/CFS and photographing them etc all takes a lot of energy and is a very slow process. I do knit to order too, but be aware a froglet with a jumper takes around 3 to 4 days for me to make on average. The smaller they are the longer they take as they are more intricate and fiddly. Thank you muchly.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.

i would also be a grumpy so and so if someone removed my arms and legs!
