This post is too long for email click through to read on Substack. Also click on photos to see all of them, some in galleries aren’t fully displayed.

(I have been using patterns by Claire Garland from Dot Pebbles Knit for most of these little animals. She has a fab Instagram account. Shoes are sadly not made by me but from various sellers on Etsy.)
Hello Knitting Cabbage Heads,
This is the story of the making of the black frog in pictures. A mere tadpole in the making, basking in the egg carton pool of cardboard life with the others, he was one of the last to hatch, and often hid under his lighter shades of grey siblings. If you look closely he is under the light grey right in the left hand top corner.
Only still wee ones but they love sitting in the sunlight dreaming of the adventures they may go on. He is there in the back row dreaming of the times to come.
At this point they tend to announce their gender and name. Some froglets are timid and not sure what style to go, for some are very sure. Trevor was very sure and whispered his name as soon as I picked him up, and knew the style he wanted immediately. As soon as he had legs and boots he was happy to pose for pictures

Arms were obviously next. The usual revisiting of the view ensued.

Clothing wise despite heading into warmer weather Trevor wanted a felt coat. Additions were suggested by readers on Notes and he wended up with a dubious flat cap, a pocket, a necktie, and lots of buttons. I added the socks as they seemed to set the whole thing off well.

And there we are. He’s all done and is off to live with a very dear friend.
Till next time peeps, Tx
Froglets🐸, other animals🐇🦊🦡🐭🐘🦏🦎🦥🦧etc, and other miniatures are (or will be) available either from me on here (message me) or in my Etsy store A Midnight Emporium. They are considered collectibles, are unsuitable for under 14s due to the wires, are not CE/UKCA tested (collectibles do not need to be), and are therefore priced as such. Also contact me here if you fancy something you see but I haven’t put in my shop. I do have ME/CFS and photographing and listing them all takes a lot of energy and is a very slow process. I do occasionally knit to order too, but be aware a froglet with a jumper takes around 3 to 4 days for me to make on average. The smaller they are the longer they take as they are more intricate and fiddly. Orifice hooks and stitch markers for crochet and knitting are available from The Purple Peapod. Thank you muchly.
If you have enjoyed my ramblings I’d love for you to click the ❤️. It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.
