March has been a very interestingly productive month, but not by me. We’ve had lots and lots of workmen in. As I’m sure a lot of us know finding trustworthy tradespeople can be a humongous task in itself, so if they all want to come a roughly the same time you don’t object. We’ve had landscapers, decorators, plumbers, and electricians. It’s been a very hectic month.
Some New Zealand Flax we have sold on so we can have climbing roses instead. We actually ended up giving most of them to the previous owner of this house.
We visited Bradford Industrial Museum for Mothers Day and saw loads of fascinating machinery. Looms ….
Printing presses …..
More looms ….
We went and looked after MIL for a few days and took her out for a cream tea. After dissing the price (a normal phenomenon) she tucked into a raspberry and white chocolate scone with clotted cream and jam.
Then the mayhem began. The breaking up of old concrete and tarmac to create new steps in the garden.
Viewing the chickens from above.
8. Beautiful sunlight
Nighttime view.
The end result of the concrete smashing.

It pleases the social algorithm, lets others know there’s something interesting here, as well as letting me know you liked it and giving me a little virtual hug. Without virtual hugs I have been know to get sad 😜. Shares are good too and a comment buoys me up even more 😁 A comment of what you liked, what you didn’t etc would be most gratefully appreciated.

I took a group of British Asian ladies to this museum about ten years ago. Their fathers had been invited to come to the UK to work in the mills after WW11. Very few working mills now remain in the Bradford area and it was lovely to see their reactions to how their fathers used to work. Actually my favourite exhibits were the terraced houses furnished in different time periods. The later ones, from the 1950s onwards, were still very familiar to me. A great nostalgic day out.
I’m adding this museum to my travel list! Also your new walkway looks lovely. 🌿
