We are so fortunate to be so close to such an iconic and stunning spot. Great shame the e-trike hasn't worked out, but at least we tried, and have the other one that is great for less demanding adventures.
So sorry it did not live up to expectations! Sad for you. My nephew is in a power chair, full time. It’s a very restricted freedom, and finding a chair that works for your personal needs is HARD. As you know better than I!
Choosing a chair requires you to accept reality in ways that add to your burdens, it seems to me — he had a great chair, for many years, but then its motor/battery began to die, and it can’t be replaced as manufacturers have discontinued it. So he has spent much of the last few years acclimating himself to the new chair, which does not suit in many ways, and is very hard to drive because the controls are ‘improved’ — but when your muscles are dying slowly, learning to manipulate new equipment is not easy. And as you know, engineers try but reality is they don’t live in their inventions, do they? Nor do they suffer from the many restrictions the chair/bike/etc user suffers. Heavy sigh of sympathy…
Thank you. I very much appreciate what you’ve written. I’ll get there and I hope your nephew finds some kind of peace with his new chair. As of now I need to sell this one and then consider what to do next.
Thank you for kindly accepting my “bystander proselytizing” is the best term I could think of??? I do go on I’m afraid…watching him negotiate the world from age 5 (he turns 32 next week) has really opened my eyes to the woeful lack of support and the million invisible barriers you mobility-challenged folks endure! Don’t ask about the day a fellow dog-owner complained when our local jungle gym/swings play park was upgraded from sand below, to smooth mobility surface (if you have encountered it you will know why I was thrilled) and his dogs lost the sand they used to love to roll in — he got an earful! Oh dear, here I go again…!
I am very thankful for your bystander proselytising! I tend to go on as well. I’m either dominating conversations (cos I hate dead space) or silent. Please write away!
Bugger!!! Ah well, we can but try eh?! I bought mine and have yet to try it yet, once we've unpacked and sorted I'll give it a spin! You keeping the other one?
To go anywhere other than that wide track yes it did need to get up the hill. And I don’t need a very expensive off road wheelchair to do that wide track my cheap one can manage that.

Glad you enjoyed yourself!

Yes keeping the other one. Glad you have got one too.
I am sorry you are sad and that it is to be sold. It looks like a lovely day out - did it HAVE to get up the last hill?
