Hello Red Cabbage Heads

How is the world with my fellow chronics? For the new people I have ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis) often know as CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). I’ve been living with this disease for 15+ years now.

This is the story of persuading myself to buy an electric wheelchair so that I can experience the wide world again.

Last time I signed off with this statement

Such is life, we make mistakes at times and we learn from them and move on. (And sadly weep into our tea but don’t tell anyone that bit.)

And that’s what has now been decided.

Today has been a beautiful day and we took the e-trike up onto Ilkley Moor to give it another go. And in many ways it did very well. IT did very well. I, not so much. I managed rough ground in an exemplary way. It managed small hills. It managed a deepish muddy puddle. It did not manage the hill the other chair got up which was its final test. R took it for a couple of spins to see if it was user error and no it still didn’t manage that hill. (It is a very steep, rocky hill, and if I could use my arms as well to help it may have managed it. ) So that’s that. It is getting sold.

It was good up there though. I loved being out. R is in the chair.
