I remember, one Christmas, my sister calling my life hacks like having cello tape upstairs and downstairs lazy. And her being shocked that I had something to say about that. She said she was joking but words still hurt. I’m sorry. As my husband says on a regular basis’ people are stupid’ I love hearing your adventures and seriously thinking about getting an electric wheelchair, partly down to you and Tilly showing me what is possible.
Why right do people think they have to judge like that. I have a hoover upstairs and another downstairs (not that I can use them anymore), cleaning stuff in every room, etc. and I hate that people say ‘only joking’, it’s a default instead of taking responsibility and saying sorry. As I always say, if one party isn’t laughing it’s not a joke. It’s bullying. And oh, Tilly amazing outfits, amazing chair. I must bring mine up.
I’m so sorry Tamsin but I’m glad you took the time to explain ambulatory wheelchair users to her. Hopefully she will think twice before making that comment to anyone else!
I hate people who open their mouths and out their foot straight in it. Or wellington boot in this case. What a nasty thing to say and not a joke for the person hearing it who would love to dance and sing and walk without losing spoons fast. So sorry. But yeah to having chair fixed.
This makes me so angry, joke or not. With limited spoons, I hate to think that you had to give even an ounce of energy to interacting with her when she took so little care herself. But all of that said, yay for your wheelchair (now that it’s fixed)! I hope you have many happy excursions in your future.
What a horrible thing to say, even if she was joking, which she should have clarified, I'm sorry you had that experience. Hope you can get the chair fixed asap x
I want to respond to her "F" word with another "F" word. I'm glad you got the steering fixed. I'm so sorry she was horrible to you.
R said she was definitely joking, but to me, it’s really not a thing to joke about.
Yeah…if that’s her idea of a joke, she has some work to do.

I was quite surprised when those words came out of my mouth. Normally I keep the peace.

Yeah, it’s thoughtless - sometimes I think it’s because people are embarrassed and it just slips out.

Thank you, Ive been relatively lucky previously and rarely had such interactions but hey ho. I’m looking forward to going back.
What is wrong with people??? Unbelievable.
