I laughed so hard during the second poem that I started to choke. I love the sweet, tender first version, but wow, the second version is freaking unforgettable.
Ah ha. Funny thing to me is, I didn’t write it as a poem, more a dissection, and this is only the surface thoughts out of the 100 lives of thoughts that run through my head all of the time. It’s so bloody noisy in there.
Oh wow, this is absolutely fascinating, Tam - I'd never heard of a 'Golden Shovel' poem, but it's ingenious - as is your fabulous treatment of it.
Your poem is beautiful, and the wonderful journey of your thoughts-in-progress is breathtaking.
Thank you. I’d never heard of it before, don’t think I’ll do another - it was a bit hard.
It’s absolutely amazing, Tam - awesome work!

I read it first as a dissection as well, but it morphs into its own piece of art pretty quickly. I hear you on the loud head!
Destroyed into another beautiful creation. Two poems (at least) in one!
Too kind Martin.
