I like the “glaring nothingness” - it feels like a poem. Enjoy the break from poetry posting. I look forward to your writing again when you feel ready. 🙂

Thanks Thomas, it was just thrown together with no thought in 10secs, and not a poem in my eyes without a lot of revision. I’ll be back on Friday but maybe not on a Wednesday for a small while.

Wow, so you do have posts up your sleeve even if they are not fully formed yet. I’m having a m.e crash. Which is slowing me right down in posting my first real post. But I’m pondering the poetry pal prompt as I lay around this week. Trying to get my brain to work. Hard, but gives me something pleasant to thinking about even if doesn’t come to much.

I think I have about 17 drafts floating around. Some only a title and a few sentences, some a few paragraphs long. I have to admit I have only rediscovered my muse since taking Lions Mane tablets. Without them I fall in a deep ‘fug’ and can barely think. Yesterday was a particularly bad day ME wise as I’d overdone it 2 days in a row. I managed this post and about 4 rows of knitting (each row had about 8 stitches) - so very little. This weeks Poetry Pals was a bugger, I really struggled with it.

Rest now. And I really look forward to reading your first real post when you are a little recovered.

I like it that you post that you have nothing to post. It feels like an act of defiance. I like your post whether it’s poetry, thoughts or your lovely creations. They feel like that they are characters that have their own lives and stories. Please just post your big and small thoughts or have a break for a week or two knowing that we will be here waiting for what ever you have in store for us.

Thank you Mamie. I definitely approve of acts of defiance. I have a mole on the needles and need to write a proper post about the badger and fox, so those should be coming up soon (ish). And a different poetry post will be put on Friday too. And somewhere in the middle of all that I will rest. 😂😂😂😂

Is it wrong that I’m still laughing? Your sense of humor cracks me up. The muse hasn’t left you. She’s just playing games because she’s kind of a jerk.

No not wrong of you at all. You laughing makes me laugh too. 😁

Oh good. I re-read it just to laugh again 😁.

I really don’t want to flatter (or sound like I’m flattering), but keep in mind that what you’re doing with your hands (making all these delightful creatures and their sweaters) is art of a different kind…and then the way you pose the creatures and give them so much personality for their photos, that’s another kind of art. The words will be back!

Oh flatter away! And thank you. I like words best so I get a bit greedy with them and jealous when they seek another. I await their return impatiently.

I like words best too! I understand that greed :).

I was minded of something I wrote over a decade ago, and had to search my blog archive for...

25 March 2013

'Bereft, bovvered and bewildered

So

the muse

has weighed anchor

and left me here

speechless'

My blog archives, which seems clunky now compared to Substack, can all be found on

mimsy-smallstones.blogspot.com

The 'web-version' is easiest to navigate 😊

The muse is so fickle! She left me a couple of weeks ago, and came a visiting at 3am yesterday night. I was not amused.
